Howard R. McDade 1945

Howard R. McDade did not stay long at Trappe. He was a widower and lived alone. I think he came to us from Sharptown. He had a wonderful singing voice and on Sunday mornings he could really belt out the hymns. I loved to hear him sing. I remember distinctly that "Come ye Disconsolate" was one of his favorites.

Mr. McDade loved to fish. Often Mr. Harvey Mushaw would take Rev. McDade, his daughter, her husband, and sometimes me, fishing in the Choptank.

Mr. McDade loved children of all ages. He had a beat up old 16mm movie projector and screen and would show movies to the MYF and just about anyone else who wanted to see them. He often showed the movies over top of Simpson's store. He would also show movies at Faith Chapel in the summer projecting the picture up against the side of the church.
